Around The World Discovery 2007 - Day 6: Berlin to Munich, Germany



IAN'S DIARY

Monday after another good breakfeast headed out early
in rain (weather had been good till then reasonably warm)
to Reichstag Had difficulty finding a station nearby.

Passed by “Fuhruerbunker” to get there. In pouring rain found ourselves
outside building. Heavy security to get inside There is a dome
on the top where the people can look down on the politicians.

Took taxi to get back to Hostel (no time to dry off which was a
Costly mistake as we got cough/colds next few days) Then another
Taxi Tegel Airport (went of freeway and also passed through some interesting suburbs) Lufthansa flight 221 to Munich (about one hour).

Arrived Munich around Lunchtime found train station had difficulty using ticket machine. No one would help us eventually was able to work it out. Airport a long way from the city and our Hostel was very close to main train station.

We took a train and bus to Dachau concentration camp did not know (thery're open everyday) but on Mondays.

This sort of thing is closed in Germany (on Mondays). Went back to Munich and ended up at ”HB” beerhall. We had very large schooners of beer.

Lot of singing happening here and this is were Hitler started Nazi
Party.

We had McDonalds at Munich Station think frys were off
Costly as this was the start of stomach problems.
